Keep the Holidays Merry and Choose a Safe Christmas Tree
Christmas Trees & Safety
Christmas trees are as essential to the holiday season as milk is to cookies, and at Forshaw we want to make sure you do this holiday tradition right! Everyone knows the two types of Christmas Trees: permanent (artificial) vs. harvested. But do you know the pros and cons of each type of tree? Here are a few tips to help you pick out the right tree to perfectly compliment your fireplace and stockings this year!
- Safety. Traditional, harvested trees can be a serious fire hazard once they dry out; dry pine needles are very flammable. The National Fire Protection Association reports that over 200 home fires begin with Christmas Trees every year. So, if you choose a harvested tree, be sure to throw it away soon after the holidays!
- Economy. With a harvested tree, you will be spending money to purchase a new tree every year. If you choose a permanent tree, it is a one-time purchase that can bring holiday joy for years to come!
- Appearance. These days, it is difficult to tell the difference between permanent and harvested trees. Forshaw’s permanent trees are realistic and sturdy, so you can have the holiday experience without the living tree hassle.
- Convenience. Just as you can pick out a harvested Christmas Tree, at Forshaw, there are many permanent trees to choose from. These include trees that already are strung with lights – preventing you from having to undertake that much-loathed holiday chore!
